Now, if a band consisting of Buzz and Dale of The Melvins, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez of At The Drive-In and Teri Gender-Bender of Le Butcherettes doesn't have you salivating and hollering "Fuck YEAH!", then stop reading now. For everyone else, here's a taste of what you can expect from the debut album by Crystal Fairy, released next month. Best put the children and pets away in a safe place first...
A couple years ago I was having lunch with my wife at an outdoor cafe in our neighborhood. I noticed King Buzzo sitting a few tables behind her and told her. She didn't know who Buzz was but said, "You always think you're seeing rock stars." I told her I was fairly certain I'd recognize the Melvins front man when I saw him. She tactfully turned around and gave me the "OK, I guess you'd know the guy look." I like to see Buzzo live when I'm in the mood for some sludgy tonnage -- getting less and less interested in listening to the recordings (now that I'm OLD).
