The Devil's Music

Lucifer Over Lancashire by The Fall

I don't know about you, but I think Mark E. Smith would probably scare Satan. The guy doesn't suffer fools gladly, does he? If the big guy downstairs doesn't meet with our Mark's expectations I can imagine some words being said. In a barely comprehesible Mancunian drawl, of course. Lucifer Over Lancashire was the b-side to Mr. Pharmacist in 1986. A fine single indeed, both sides of it.

  1. Mark E.Smith doesn't suffer fools gladly - you're the master of understatement Robster! He certainly scares the bejesus out of me. Fortunately he's also capable of knocking out absolute corkers like this one.

  2. I've to agree to CC. MES makes his very own thing about 30 years, never giving a mind what someone else is saying. Maybe the last hero standing.

  3. took me years to realise Mr Pharmacist was a cover version. One of the band's finest three minutes on record.
