I didn't know much about Irish punks Compulsion. I travelled down to this one with Naked i and did their lights. I thought Naked i were the best band around at the time and their live show was always full-on. But Compulsion were brilliant as well. They spent most of March supporting Shed Seven, along with a few dates with Daisy Chainsaw. The 18th, however, provided them with the opportunity to headline a show at the Cavern, and they blew the roof off. A week or so later they released their debut album and it became a big favourite of mine. I still love it now, to be fair. Later the same year, they were on a touring bill with Pop Will Eat Itself and Blaggers ITA. I never saw one of those show sadly - bet it was a belter!
