PUBLIC SERVICE BROADCASTING
Strange Brew, Bristol - 7th October 2024
This was the 7th time we'd seen Public Service Broadcasting, but our first in six years. It was a very different kind of show though, being a launch of their new album 'The Last Flight', which tells the tale of pioneer pilot Amelia Earhart. It was one of two shows hosted by the Rough Trade shop but held in Strange Brew across the road to allow more people to attend. This was the matinee show, which meant I had to take the day off work to go, which is just tragic really...
The set consisted of 7 of the 9 tracks from the new record (the first and last tracks weren't played as there was no room for an orchestra...) plus a selection of faves from the back catalogue to end with. A short show by their current standards, but it was nice to see them up close in a tiny venue again.
